One underrated Sheffield Wednesday signing, one who needs to prove himself and one who may struggle

Danny Rohl has brought in some unknown quantities as well as some tried and tested pros in names like Jamal Lowe and Nathaniel Chalobah.

Nathaniel Chalobah could be underrated Sheffield Wednesday signing
Sheffield Wednesday’s last summer signing was the free agent capture of Nathaniel Chalobah.
The one-cap former England man was let go by West Brom at the end of last season and has featured sporadically in pre-season for the Owls.
He bolsters what remains a very thin central midfield position at Hillsborough, but he adds vital experience, as well as being an all-round midfielder capable of playing in various roles.
The 29-year-old has played on the international stage, on the European stage, and in the Premier League, having also racked up 188 Championship appearances to date.
Rohl looks set to favour a midfield pairing of Barry Bannan and Svante Ingelsson, but in a fast-paced side this season, Rohl will need to rotate, and this is where Chalobah could prove very useful for the Owls boss.
Sheffield Wednesday’s first outfield signing of this summer was the free capture of Max Lowe, who was let go by Sheffield United.
Sheffield United fans have been critical of Lowe since his move to S6. He spent a lot of his four years at the club either out on loan or out injured.
But when fit and available, the stats suggest that he proved his worth; he grabbed nine assists in 53 appearances for Sheffield United.
Rohl likes his full-backs and wing-backs to get forward whenever possible and so Lowe should be suited to the style of play.
Lowe also gives some much-needed competition for Marvin Johnson who was the only out and out left-sided defender last season.
Lowe certainly arrives with a point to prove given his injury record.
