Commanders finalise 2024 draft signings with Jayden Daniels, Ben Sinnott, and Brandon Coleman.

The Washington Commanders have officially signed quarterback Jayden Daniels, tight end Ben Sinnott, and offensive tackle Brandon Coleman to rookie contracts.

Following these signings, the Commanders’ entire 2024 draft class is currently under contract.

Daniels has started 55 games (29 at Arizona State and 26 at LSU), with 12,749 passing yards, 89 passing touchdowns, 3,307 running yards, and 34 rushing touchdowns. He is the only player in FBS history to have 12,000 passing yards and 3,000 rushing yards.

Daniels earned the 2023 Heisman Trophy, becoming LSU’s third Heisman winner after Joe Burrow (2019) and Billy Cannon (1959).

Daniels was selected National Player of the Year by the Associated Press and Sporting News, as well as by Walter Camp in 2023.

Daniels won the Davey O’Brien and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm trophies in 2023, as well as Consensus All-American and First-Team All-American honours from the Associated Press, FWAA, AFCA, and Sporting News.

Dainels and Johnny Manziel (Texas A&M, 2012) are the only players in SEC history to pass for 3,500 yards and dash for 1,000 yards in a single season. He joined Joe Burrow (63), Tim Tebow (55), Cam Newton (51), and Bryce Young (50) as the only five SEC players to surpass 50 total touchdowns.

In his final season at LSU, Daniels led the nation in total offence (412.2), points responsible for each game (25.2), passer rating (208.0), yards per pass attempt (11.7), rushing yards by a quarterback (1,134), and yards per play (10.71). His passing rating of 208.0 is the greatest in FBS history.

Daniels ranks second all-time at LSU in total touchdowns (79), third in overall offence (8,744), passing touchdowns (57), and fourth in passing yards (6,725). He now owns the LSU record for rushing yards by a quarterback in a career and season (1,134 in 2023).
