I just finished watching the Music Legends series on Sky Arts, which featured Knopfler and Brian Johnson, and I’m disappointed to see that MK does not appear to be in excellent shape for his age.
For contrast, consider Brian, who is two years older than Mark and significantly more active. Johnson carefully slows down to Knopfler’s pace in the images where they walk together. Mark seemed to be uncomfortable while walking.
They’re both petrol enthusiasts, but Knopfler didn’t drive once, so my hunch is that something severe is going on with the poor fellow.
He had serious nerve problems a few years ago, and he couldn’t even stand while playing. Getting covid three times probably didn’t help him, nor did getting nine fractured bones when the lady nearly killed him as he was riding his Harley. Don’t forget, this was taped a while back. I recently saw MK, and he seemed to have improved a little with his back, but he remains shaky.
