TCU transfer According to 247Sports, Micah Peavy has committed to Georgetown as a graduate transfer.

Peavy, a 6-foot-8, 215-pound big from Cibolo (Texas), played 34 games for the Horned Frogs this season, averaging 10.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists while shooting 45.8 percent from the field.

Peavy, a two-time transfer, began his undergraduate career at Texas Tech before transferring to TCU after Texas hired Chris Beard.

He reportedly considered Arizona, California, Creighton, Houston, Kansas, Kansas State, UCLA, USC, and other schools before deciding on Georgetown.

Peavy’s pledge marks the first portal player Ed Cooley has signed this spring.

He is ranked as the No. 16 small forward in the 247Sports Transfer Portal Rankings and will have one season of eligibility remaining when he arrives on campus.

A player can request a transfer by submitting paperwork to their present school at any time within that window, and the paperwork must be submitted to the NCAA Portal database within 48 hours of receipt.

Players who have earned enough credits to graduate can visit the transfer portal at any point between March 18th and May 1st, designated as a “Grad Transfer”.

Simultaneously, with any coaching change – whether a head coach is sacked or takes another position – players on that team are allowed a 30-day window in which to enter the portal that is not limited to the March 18th-May 1st period.

Once a player has officially entered the transfer portal, other schools can approach him and begin the recruiting process.

This offseason also brings a new rule that will have a significant impact on the transfer market.

In recent years, players were allowed a one-time transfer waiver, and if they transferred again, the NCAA required a waiver to be instantly eligible.

Transfers this spring are expected to be instantly eligible for the 2024-25 season, according to a new NCAA directive.
