“Somehow, a calm has entered [into] the cyclone of my life,” he explained, “and things have gotten incredibly quiet, as quiet as this recording studio. And I like it. I’ve discovered that I like myself better. I’m kinder to people. I’m easier on myself. And the beat goes on, and it will continue long after I am gone.” The artist stated that he is learning “to make the best of it.”
During the interview, Diamond also discussed A Beautiful Noise, a Broadway production about his life. “It was all pretty hard,” he said of his experience watching actor Will Swenson play him. “I was slightly ashamed. I felt both flattered and afraid.” He expressed fear of being discovered, stating thathis Parkinson’s diagnosis. The 82-year-old singer-songwriter first announced his condition and plans to retire from touring in 2018. However, in a new interview with CBS Sunday Morning, which will run this weekend, Diamond acknowledged that he was in utter denial for the two years following his doctor’s diagnosis.

My heartfelt apologies to everyone who purchased tickets and planned to attend the next events.”
