On Tuesday, Cameron Brink and the Los Angeles Sparks faced the Connecticut Sun, hoping to end their losing streak. Not only did the Sparks lose the game, 79-70, but they also lost an essential piece for the rest of the season.
Brink, a talented former Stanford Cardinal player, sustained a devastating torn left ACL just four minutes into the game. The team officially announced the injury on Wednesday. Brink, who was selected No. 2 in April’s draft, showcased her skills in all 15 games for the Sparks before the injury.
Following the announcement of Brink’s injury, Paige Bueckers, the guard for the UConn Huskies, had a concise six-word message for Brink.
